Sydney Wedding Photography – Jono and Lyndall – Palm Beach NSW

Meet Jono and Lyndall, a couple very much in Love, and very easy going, an absolute pleasure to be around from start through to cheese.

Understandably though as Sydney definitely turned on the charm for us.

The Boathouse at Palm Beach in Sydney is truly one grand establishment to have a wedding, if you are prepared to wait for a few years to get a good day!

I can personally recommend the location and the food is amazing!….oh and check out the biggest Paella I have ever seen this side of the world!!

Thanks for allowing us to be a part of your amazing wedding guys. Well Married!!!

Sydney Wedding – Jeremy and Claire – a few teasers

July 3, 2014

Just after Claire was all ready to go to the alter, I was walking to my car and heard from inside someones house with an open door, the radio “Sydney could be in for 100km/hr winds this afternoon!”, and that’s all I heard.

Well yes it happened last Saturday, just as we arrived at Bradleys Head Mosman for bridal party photos it all went sideways, literally.

This is one during the storm in a protected area, and one after the main storm had eased, still very windy, Jeremy and Claire braving the storm to have some memorable shots of their wedding day.

I’m sure they will never forget their amazing day!

Aussie Country Wedding – Rhys and Krystal – full Wedding at Upper Lansdowne

This beautiful part of the world is Upper Lansdowne, out in the country near Taree in rural NSW, aka a wedding photographer’s delight. After a wonderful ceremony in the cutest little chapel I’ve ever seen, we ventured across the road to the local hall where a lamb was roasting on a spit and a cultural array of cuisine was served as everyone sipped on cider,beer and wine from around the world.

We let it cool down a little before venturing out to Grandmas Farm which would later host the Tent City where guests stayed the night. We snuck down to the pristine creek for a few romantic pics and then wandered around the farm looking for fun places to stop, have a drink and snap a few more images.

My guess is that everyone partied on into the night and morning, by campfire light, long after we had gone home. Party animals!

Thanks to Tessa Tran for helping me on this, it sure was an adventure we had over the few days we were out in the country.

Thanks goes out to Rhys and Krystal for their warm hospitality and great company, and for allowing us to be a part of their very funky, intimate & relaxed country wedding!

My Favourite Images of 2013

2013 has been huge.

I gave up my part-time ‘day job’ to focus entirely on my photography business. I moved interstate, away from the city where I’ve always lived. I flew on at least one plane a week. We had a baby!

And I live to tell the tale.

All of my clients you’ll see below had big years too – they were married. I thank them sincerely for connecting with my work, inviting me to document their major life events and allowing me to do what I love for a living.

We also raised almost $2,500 via our 100 Kids with a Different Future campaign, something I’m proud of and keen to do more of.

The images below are arguably my best, but definitely my faves of 2013. I hope you enjoy.

After much consideration I have decided to take on less weddings each year from now. This way I can give my best to each client while also spending more time being a hands on Dad and investing in my personal photography work.

I have a small handful of 2014 dates remaining and 2015 is already filling fast. So if you’re up for major life event, let’s have a chat.

Brisbane Wedding – Alice and Tim’s full Wedding in Brookfield

I thought I should share one of my recent Brisbane weddings that took place on a winter’s day out on a private property in the beautiful hilly suburb of Brookfield in SE Queensland. The ceremony overlooked a lilypond, and Alice and Tim said their vows to each other underneath a floral arch while we listened to beautiful acoustic music in the background.

We then wandered out and around the amazing property and snapped a couple of shots with the bridal party (a lot of fun those bunch) and some more personal ones of Alice and Tim.

The reception took place under a huge oak tree filled with fairy lights and tea-light candles, deservedly named “The contemplative Love Tree”, and heart felt speeches and dancing carried on all night under a huge marquee.

Everyone put so much work into making this happen and it turned out to be something quite unique and was incredible to be a part of – It was a true testament to Alice and Tim and their desire to create something beautiful.

Thanks to Trisha King from The Itchy Eyes for being my second shooter and for bringing along a great and unique perspective into the day.

I would also like to thank Alice & Tim and their families for putting on such a creatively inspiring event which makes it so easy to be a photographer.

Enjoy the day as we saw it through our eyes.

To top it off, a poem that made us all shed a tear, authored and spoken by Alice’s father Jim at the reception, that he then handed to Alice on a Manuscript.

Light Pictures – Best Images of 2012

January 11, 2013

So here is the Light Pictures 2012 in rewind.

We traveled to some amazing places both abroad and in our homeland of Aus, had the pleasure of photographing the stories of many beautiful wedding days, met many cool people – and who can’t say that a job like that is amazingly satisfying.

I can’t thank my partner Jane enough for all the support in every way, I love her dearly and look forward to our future together with our first baby due at the end of April. Also to the people who have trusted us along the way, for all the support out there to help us follow our dreams – thank you.

Looking forward to another amazing year ahead for 2013!
