Byron Bay Wedding – The Fig Tree – Mike and Kristy – A few teasers…

The Fig Tree really is one of then nicest spots in Byron Bay to have a wedding. The food is amazing, the staff are uber friendly, the view is spectacular and its close to some other amazing spots for taking pics.

Just a couple of frames here of Mike and Kristy, looking very fab on their amazing wedding day.

Byron Bay Photographer – Love is…

Running your own business from home is a dream for some, but it can be a rather solitary experience at times. Good old Facebook allows us to keep in touch with our sanity and with other photographers in our network and around the globe. There is one forum that Jane uses to keep in touch with Jinky Art workshop alumni, being lucky enough to have attended 2 workshops in her time with the insanely talented and beautiful Barb Uil from Jinky Art (see the real life French Castle we stayed in for one of those workshops!).

A handful of photographers in this group have decided to share each other’s work a little, with the theme being ‘love’. I thought I’d post this image of Jane and Louis from last Mother’s Day, on our daily evening walk to the park. Louis had just turned 1 and we had also just found out that our little Layla was growing in Jane’s belly. Hearts side by side, looking towards a bright, happy and healthy future. This is what I hope for my three loves.

Destination Wedding Photographer – Sneak Peek of Margaret and Jorge’s Wedding in Cartagena

Wow, I’ve had the most incredible time in the beautiful city of Cartagena. I have just come back to my hotel from the wedding of Jorge and Margaret to pack my bags and wanted to share a few sneak peeks with you. Cartagena is a destination wedding photographer’s dream, with the walled Old Town being a UNESCO World Heritage listed site. We were lucky enough to spend some time in the Old Town while taking photos. We were even luckier to be invited up to the roof of the Cartagena Cathedral to take in the Caribbean sunset on the eve of their wedding. Both Margaret and Jorge have dedicated their lives to helping the under-privileged kids of Cartagena and it was wonderful for them to be given this unique opportunity. The Cathedral roof and tower are usually closed to the public.

I have had a wonderful week getting to know the both of you and your family and friends. I even did some traveling and trekking with Marg and Jorge up north and I can’t wait to show off some images from our experience.

Thankyou to Jorge and Margaret for their wonderful hospitality for the week I have stayed here. Now it’s off to New York City for a few days before heading home to my young family.

Byron Bay Wedding – Craig and Emma – at Byron View Farm

Byron View Farm is a beautiful property nestled among the rolling hills of the Byron Bay hinterlands.

Emma and Craig had seen one other wedding we had photographed at this location a while back, while Byron was in the middle of a very wet few weeks, but despite the rain Emma fell in love with Byron View Farm and with Déus Photography, so the wedding had to be…

And here we are.

Emma and Craig, very much in Love, as evidenced in the images Jane and I captured of their wonderful day.

All we want is to be photographing weddings with two people who are in love, enjoying the day with their families and friends, capturing the romance and emotion and of course traveling to the odd stunning location… and we are happy.

We got it all this time, thank- you so much to Emma and Craig for trusting us, allowing us to be a part of their amazing wedding and for the hospitality they showed to us and everyone else involved.

This is how Jane and I saw Emma and Craig’s love-story through our cameras.
