Best wedding vendors - our pick

As wedding photographers we get to go to a lot of weddings :-).
Over the years we've been lucky enough to work with some of the best wedding vendors in the Australian wedding industry.

It hasn't been easy to compile a shortlist of our faves, particularly when it came to the small but strong wedding community of Byron Bay where everyone is pretty much spectacular.
The vendors we have listed below definitely have that wow factor and general awesomeness about them.

We can't wait to work with these guys again!

Caterers

Harvest, Newrybar Downs - you must dine here at some point in your lifetime, preferably on a regular basis!
These guys do fresh and local in a knock-out kind of way.
Byron Bay based.
Their coffee is by All Press and goes perfectly with their freshly stone-oven baked yum-bombs on a Sunday morning.

Fiasco Catering - For the north coast of NSW their food is next to none. They sure put on one hell of a feast, but with attention to detail and always with that perfect flavour balance. They also have a highly recommended restaurant in Coffs Harbour worth having a meal or two at.

Celebrants

Ben Carlyle - if you want a bit of life and soul injected into your ceremony, Ben is the man.

Northern NSW based.

Cara Gallagher (Modern Love) - Cara is so sweet, I have noticed that the couples she marries just love her like a sister.
Cara is the ultimate professional, kind, calm, and very cool.

Chapels & Churches

All Hallows' Chapel, Brisbane - word is that the Chapel is only available to previous students of All Hallows' School, and what an absolute honour it must be to have this as an option for your wedding.
Stunning light and architecture makes for beautiful ceremony images.
See David and Maryellen's wedding where All Hallows' Chapel was used for their ceremony and the old Nunnery next door set the scene for family photos.

St Mary's Cathedral Crypt, Sydney - The incredible space beneath St Mary's Cathedral, it sounds kind of scary but having a low roof, dim and warm lighting, stunning mosaic floor, and the opportunity to have your ceremony in the middle of the crypt, allowing your friends and family to surround you both, it's just breathtaking.

We would also say that to obtain decent photographs in the Crypt requires solid skills from your photographer.

Dressmakers

Steven Khalil - see the beautiful Frances in her Steven Khalil dress

Gwendolynne - If I died and came back as a wedding dress it would be one by Gwendolynne.
We really have incredible Australian wedding dress designers and Gwendolynne is one.

Wendy Makin - It's hard to pull off a fancy floral wedding dress that's for sure, but Wendy did. You can see Rachael embracing floral decadence, looking gorgeous in one of Wendy's dresses here.

Entertainment

The Rush Band (exclusive to The Rush Group) - Few bands have the ability of these guys to get your guests up and grooving on the dance floor.
Top shelf musicians.

Smooth Moves Dance - Brisbane Wedding Dance Specialists. Lessons and choreography packages to suit any style / budget. Open 7 days a week including nights. Providing dance lessons for the Bridal Waltz/First Dance, Bridal Parties, Hens parties and Receptions.

Florists

Hair and Make-up

Christina Cleary - Christina is Sydney based and her work is phenomenal.

Styling

She Designs - will style your wedding like no other, and make you feel like you're in a fairy-tale, a movie set, a magazine, or just a really unforgettable wedding.

Transport

Kenz Classics, Brisbane - Oh I love beautiful classic Jags and Kenz Classics have a damn-fine collection.
I have photographed a number of Brisbane weddings and I can tell immediately when there's a Kenz Classic waiting to deliver the Bride to her wedding.
David and Maryellen's wedding is one.
Brisbane based.

Venues

The Boathouse, Palm Beach, Sydney - Quintessential northern beaches vibe, stunning sunsets, the food is mouthwatering and the staff are polished.
Can't wait to go back, time and time again.
So many weddings to choose from, but take a look at Jono and Lyndall's wedding had particularly good vibes.

Kangaroo Valley Bush Retreat - Wow.
That's pretty much it.

Located in the south coast hinterlands of NSW.

Byronview Farm - it's hard to choose a fave Byron Bay wedding venue, it's hard to go wrong whether you go beach-side or up in the hinterlands.
But there's something about Byron View Farm we both love, and would choose it for our own wedding venue!

It can even look amazing in the rain, as you can see from Matt and Jade's wedding.

Wedding planners

Byron Bay Weddings - Che and the gang from Byron Bay Weddings always pull off incredible events, with everything on point, all the time.
Most Byron Bay weddings you see on our website will have been planned and coordinated by Byron Bay Weddings.

North Coast Luxury Weddings - These guys sure have an eye for detail I can appreciate, and will make sure everything runs as smooth as silk on your big day. For anything NSW north coast and the Coffs Harbour area, you really should give them a call.
